I asked to see the CCTV of my check-in and walk to the room. I could not get any privacy to call as the Bellman followed me as I was making the calls. While I was there made calls to try and find out what my next steps should be. I then went to the lobby and asked for the manager, who I never got to see (we only exchanged messages). We informed the hotel, the receptionist came to the room and helped re-search the room. We searched the room, which was easy as it was basic and clean, the passport was nowhere to be found. Then, within 2 minutes of the Bellman leaving the room we noticed my passport was missing. He showed us into the room and gave us a short room orientation. My son and I were then shown to our room by the Bellman. My passport was scanned/photographed when checking in and returned to me. WARNING – My passport disappeared at this hotel. 100% recommend anyone traveling to Cartagena to stay here for a night or several! The staff scheduled a nurse to come to the hostel to provide COVID testing which was quick and easy. Right near this hostel are several great bars and clubs for a pleasant nightlife. There is also a full kitchen open to guests to use if you would like to prepare and cook your own food. This hostel also has a pizza restaurant (Mama's Kitchen) on the first floor. Each guest is given a wristband for security. At night, for extra security, they close the main door and you just need to knock on the door. The room was clean, the shower had shampoo and body wash, and the water was super hot. They even asked if we wanted our clothes folded. They give you a laundry bag and you fill it up. The staff provided laundry services for a small fee. The staff was super accommodating and kind. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our two weeks in Colombia and the one with the worst service They also advertise a lunch menu but the kitchen was “closed” and there was no staff available our whole stay For example they advertise a rooftop bar by the pool but there was never any staff there to serve drinks from the locked fridge. They were also lacking in other areas of the hotel. We didn’t receive any acknowledgment or apologies from the staff. Only on the last night at 7pm they offered us another room as they couldn’t fix the problem but we were already checking out the next morning. Each time I was told they would look into it but nothing was done. Our shower had no water pressure, barely a trickle of hot water came out and I reported this 4 times over 2 days to reception. Very disappointed this hotel takes no responsibility for its shortcomings.ĭespite the beautiful decor, large rooms and nice rooftop pool we were massively let down by the service. Offering me a room at 7pm the day before we leave isn’t an acceptable solution. We then sat at the pool waiting for someone to show up to order a beer from 4:30 to 6pm.įor the hot water there was barely a trickle of water coming out and staff didn’t do anything despite me complaining 4 separate times. Changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star following the hotel’s reply.Įverything they replied is false, we tried to order food at 1:15pm and were told the kitchen was closed.
